LearningBook
In order for staff to track children’s development through their early years, we use LearningBook, an innovative digital learning journey. LearningBook is used to capture observations of activities and link them to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum. This means we can track and monitor your child’s progress throughout their time at Footprints.
LearningBook was formed in 2012 by head teachers, Ofsted outstanding nursery providers and ex-corporate IT professionals. Footprints was a key part of the development of LearningBook – our team advised what key features should be included in order for the LearningBook to make our observation recording and development tracking as simple, accurate and useful as possible.
We use LearningBook software to create assessments and reports which we share and discuss with parents or carers every 12 weeks, allowing us to see what your child is currently achieving during their time at nursery. Footprints believes that children benefit most from early years education and care when parents and settings work together in partnership. “At Home” observations can be completed on LearningBook, as well as keepsake comments too, all of which go towards engaging our wonderful parents!
When your child starts at Footprints, you will be given a log-on to our LearningBook system so that you can see exactly how much fun your child has been having that day! Does your child like fire engines, bees, butterflies? Tell us about it! We can include any new likes/dislikes into planning interesting activities to engage your child.
